.NET Web Developer - Remote Position for Case Management System

About the Role

We are seeking a talented .NET Web Developer remote to join our team at IO Datasphere, Inc. This role involves modernizing the PROTECT case management system, which is utilized by the State of Wisconsin. As a .NET Web Developer remote, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the system's backend and middleware, ensuring a seamless user experience for over 1600 users.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the development team to refactor and modernize a legacy VB.NET desktop application.
  • Implement event handlers to manage asynchronous processes, improving application responsiveness.
  • Create and optimize batch jobs for efficient data processing and system performance.
  • Integrate event handlers, batch jobs, and message queues with external APIs, services, and third-party systems.
  • Work on migrating legacy interfaces to modern services using .NET Core and other .NET technologies.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party APIs as needed.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using ASP.NET MVC, Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality software solutions.
  • Integrate security controls and defensive programming practices into the .NET codebase.
  • Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies to enhance the security posture of .NET applications.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer with a focus on backend development using .NET technologies.
  • Proficiency in ASP.NET, C#, .NET Core, and Entity Framework.
  • Experience with SQL Server in hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Strong skills in server-side event-driven programming and API development (SOAP and REST).
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or React.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and SecureDevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and event-driven programming.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and develop technical specifications for automated systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure SQL and modernizing legacy applications.
  • Familiarity with automation testing best practices and tools.
