About the Role

We are seeking a Modern Workplace Engineer to join our dynamic team at Sand Technologies. This Modern Workplace Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to design, operate, and continuously enhance our end-user technology environment at scale. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between EMEA and North American time zones, ensuring seamless collaboration across our global workforce.

What You'll Do

• Operate Google Workspace at scale, managing user lifecycles, domain management, and security controls.
• Administer and optimize Slack, ensuring effective workspace configuration and governance.
• Manage collaboration tools such as Zoom, Atlassian, and GitHub, enhancing productivity across teams.
• Maintain identity and SSO architecture, troubleshooting integrations and ensuring security compliance.
• Oversee endpoint management for macOS, Windows, and mobile devices, implementing compliance policies and security baselines.
• Enhance ITSM processes, improving visibility and operational hygiene across IT support.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work, creating clear documentation and standards.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to influence tooling decisions and maintain operational excellence.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Modern Workplace or IT Operations, with a focus on end-user computing.
• Familiarity with device and asset management best practices.
• Experience with desktop troubleshooting and domain services such as Active Directory and Google Workspace.
• Proven experience with identity and SSO management.
• Solid understanding of endpoint management concepts and ITSM platforms.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to automation tools and low/no-code tooling.
• Experience supporting remote-first organizations.
• Familiarity with security concepts like Zero Trust.
• Participation in large-scale migrations of email and identity systems.
