About the Role

We're hiring a Mid-Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Kaufland Marketplaces. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely within Germany, allowing you to balance your work and personal life effectively.

What You'll Do

  • Develop cutting-edge technology and design scalable backend solutions for our Kaufland Marketplaces.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end feature development, from designing and coding to testing, deployment, and monitoring in production environments.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders and engineers to achieve common goals.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our development processes, exploring new tools and technologies.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and high-performance code while adhering to best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers during pair programming sessions, fostering a culture of learning.

Requirements

  • Completed university studies in (business) information technology, (business) engineering, mathematics, or physics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive experience in backend development, particularly with PHP and/or Golang.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international, English-speaking team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms.
  • Previous experience in e-commerce environments.
