Senior Aviation Hardware & Software Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Aviation Hardware & Software Engineer to join our innovative team at CycloTech. As a Senior Aviation Hardware & Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our cutting-edge eVTOL propulsion systems. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to a revolutionary technology that aims to redefine individual air mobility.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and integrate hardware and software components into CycloRotor products.
• Guide the team in applying DO178, DO254, and ARP4754/61 standards to ensure certifiable products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including aerodynamics, structures, and systems engineering.
• Provide technical guidance and feedback to team members and other engineers.
• Prepare and present technical reports and documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in regular meetings and reviews with the Head of Engineering.
• Implement best practices for continuous improvement in engineering processes.
• Lead complex engineering projects from concept to completion.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, embedded systems engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing hardware and software systems for electric aircraft or similar safety-critical applications.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an aerospace design organization.
• Thorough understanding of embedded systems, electrical motors, and flight control laws.
• Proven track record in leading engineering projects with hands-on experience in DO178 and/or ARP4754/61.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English; German is a plus.
• Familiarity with DO254, DO160, CS-E, or Part 33 is advantageous.
• Experience in implementing automation across V&V activities is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CVE processes.
• Hands-on experience in prototyping and certification.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach.
