About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AWS Systems Architect to design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services. This AWS Systems Architect remote position offers flexibility to work from any location in the United States, including your home or coworking spaces.
What You'll Do
- Architect and design end-to-end AWS solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Define and enforce cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Lead the selection and integration of AWS services and third-party tools.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and operational guidelines.
- Oversee the implementation of automated deployment pipelines, including advanced release strategies (blue/green, canary, etc.).
- Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks for operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategies for capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Ensure all solutions comply with security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to deliver Infrastructure as Code.
- Advise stakeholders on cloud adoption, migration, and integration strategies.
- Support cloud cost optimization and resource efficiency initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience architecting and deploying large-scale systems on AWS.
- Deep knowledge of core AWS services (e.g., EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM).
- Strong background in designing secure, highly available, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation in AWS environments.
- Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting in cloud systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with large-scale cloud migrations and enterprise production launches on AWS.
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS DevOps tools (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy).
- Background in integrating AWS with on-premises systems and third-party services.
- Strong understanding of cloud cost management and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate) or other relevant AWS certifications.
