Medical Assistant - Remote Position at NextCare
About the Role
NextCare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team remotely. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Do
- Assist providers with patient exams, including taking vitals and preparing patients for procedures.
- Administer medications as per policy and provider direction, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform blood draws and urine collections for testing, including employer drug screens.
- Conduct various physicals, such as sports physicals, and provide wound care and oxygen administration.
- Notify the provider of any unusual occurrences and promptly address patient safety concerns.
- Support front office reception duties, including managing patient flow, processing discharges, and collecting payments.
- Maintain proficiency in EMR/EHR systems to ensure accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth operation of clinic services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is required.
- National certification from AAMA, AMT, or NHA is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems is essential.
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant is a plus, but not mandatory.
Nice to Have
- Experience in urgent care or similar healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid.
