About the Role

NextCare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team remotely. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This Medical Assistant remote position allows you to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services while working from the comfort of your home.

What You'll Do

  • Assist providers with patient exams, including taking vitals and preparing patients for procedures.
  • Administer medications as per policy and provider direction, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Perform blood draws and urine collections for testing, including employer drug screens.
  • Conduct various physicals, such as sports physicals, and provide wound care and oxygen administration.
  • Notify the provider of any unusual occurrences and promptly address patient safety concerns.
  • Support front office reception duties, including managing patient flow, processing discharges, and collecting payments.
  • Maintain proficiency in EMR/EHR systems to ensure accurate patient records.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth operation of clinic services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is required.
  • National certification from AAMA, AMT, or NHA is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems is essential.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant is a plus, but not mandatory.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in urgent care or similar healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Certification in CPR or First Aid.
