Plant Fitter - Remote Opportunities Available

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to join the Mick George Group, with opportunities for remote work. This role involves various maintenance tasks within a quieter workshop based out of Ellington, Cambridgeshire. You'll be responsible for repairs ranging from small engines and pumps to excavators and crushers. As a Plant Fitter, you will maintain high levels of workmanship and ensure safety standards are met.

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy plant equipment.
• Complete inspection forms and maintain accurate records.
• Source and organize parts with the assistance of the maintenance team.
• Conduct regular equipment checks to ensure functionality and safety.
• Keep the work area tidy and safe, suggesting improvements when necessary.
• Work independently and unsupervised while delivering against targets.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with a wide variety of heavy plant equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and complete tasks efficiently.
• Excellent knowledge of basic health and safety practices.
• Confidence and competence in delivering high-quality work.
• Basic administration skills for record-keeping.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a workshop environment.
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems.
• Certifications related to plant maintenance or repair.
