About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Material Manager to join our team remotely. In this role, you will assist the Director of Materials in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Department Operations Manual, reflecting policies, procedures, and performance standards. As a Material Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our materials management processes.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Director of Materials with the annual review of the Department Operations Manual to ensure it accurately reflects any changes.
  • Establish and maintain historical data and a library of supplier catalogs and price lists.
  • Enforce internal control policies and procedures related to purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and issuing processes.
  • Handle guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries courteously and efficiently.
  • Maximize employee productivity through multi-skilling, multi-tasking, and flexible scheduling to meet financial goals.
  • Monitor costs in the Materials Department and implement measures to control these expenses.
  • Contribute to forecasting and business planning activities by providing historical information and cost projections.
  • Assist in preparing the annual Finance Business Plan, ensuring divisional objectives align with hotel business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel, company, and local regulations regarding financial record keeping and money handling.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in materials management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and contribute to budgeting processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
  • Familiarity with financial forecasting and budgeting.
