Material Handler - Manufacturing Operations

About the Role

As a Material Handler, you will work on the manufacturing floor to assist in the production and assembly of equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient flow of materials and finished goods into and out of the production process. You will be in close communication with various departments within the organization, making this a dynamic and engaging position. What You'll Do

  • Safely and efficiently move raw materials and finished products between departments, maintaining the flow of production.
  • Perform daily inspections of material handling equipment (Forklift, Walkie), and report any minor or major damage to the equipment.
  • Organize and maintain 5S in storage areas within the plant and outside.
  • Follow written directions; interpret schedules, shipping documents, and drawings.
  • Communicate with project managers and supervisors to understand production schedules.
  • May perform other activities, such as unloading crates, opening containers and crates from outside vendors, and weighing and checking materials.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Effective organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Previous experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pump carts, and walkies.
  • Prior experience in warehousing or logistics is an asset.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Physical requirements include driving (80-90%), standing, and climbing.
  • Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside.
  • Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs).
