About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Innovation Advanced Technology Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming manufacturing processes through the convergence of simulation and data analytics. You will design and implement advanced computer vision models for defect detection and classification, ensuring high performance in real-time environments.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and deploy production-grade machine learning models for industrial vision inspection systems across manufacturing lines.
  • Accelerate model development using synthetic data generation and active learning techniques.
  • Package models and services using Docker and manage deployments through Kubernetes.
  • Optimize inference for edge hardware to meet strict real-time latency requirements.
  • Integrate vision systems with PLCs and industrial networks using protocols like OPC-UA and MQTT.
  • Lead data collection campaigns and establish quality gates for model validation.
  • Ensure uptime and availability targets through proactive monitoring and calibration.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate robust AI solutions into high-volume manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial machine vision and edge AI deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++ with strong knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience integrating vision systems with PLCs and industrial protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver production-ready AI solutions under strict timelines.
  • Ability to travel to North American Manufacturing Centers as needed.

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience in project management with internal and external parties.
  • Expertise in synthetic data generation techniques and domain randomization.
