Internship – Communication Support for Crisis and Conflict Division
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our team as a Communication Support for the Crisis and Conflict Division. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful work that contributes to the mission of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). As an intern, you will assist in various communication tasks aimed at enhancing the visibility and impact of our initiatives in crisis and conflict zones. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about international development and public communication.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the implementation and updating of the division's communication plan, focusing on priority objectives, target audiences, and key messages.
- Contribute to the creation and updating of external communication materials, including social media content, website articles, and public event communications.
- Help improve and harmonize internal communication tools, such as internal networks, presentations, and training materials.
- Organize internal events and external conferences related to the division's focus areas, including peacebuilding and responses to forced displacements.
- Support the accountability and capitalization efforts of AFD's activities in crisis and conflict contexts by producing content for reports and compiling data.
- Participate in internal capitalization exercises on AFD projects in crisis zones.
- Provide occasional support to the division's missions as needed, including producing synthesis notes and risk analysis reports.
- Engage with researchers and partner organizations to organize exchange sessions and draft reports.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in political science, international relations, or international development.
- Strong interest in international cooperation and public communication.
- Good knowledge of international issues and institutional challenges related to humanitarian aid and development in crisis contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Experience in content writing and social media management is a plus.
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly in a small team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Previous experience in a developing country is valued.

- Familiarity with crisis and conflict dynamics.
- Experience in event organization and public speaking.
