Low Voltage Service Technician - Remote Opportunity

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Service Manager with inspecting, testing, and maintaining low voltage systems, including fire alarms, video surveillance, door access, AV, audio, paging, intercom, nurse call, and network.
  • Service, inspect, and maintain low voltage systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry/components while recording effects on unit performance.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and dependability by following instructions and being an active listener.
  • Adapt well to changing circumstances or conditions in the field.
  • Pursue career development opportunities such as training and certification courses.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while keeping a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all New Era policies regarding dress code, safety, attendance, etc.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience in Fire Alarm Testing and Inspections.
  • Prior fire alarm service experience is preferred, along with knowledge of CCTV and access control/security systems.
  • Obtain Fire Alarm NICET certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, balance, stand, walk, sit, and climb, including working on a ladder.
  • Ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods and lift/move equipment of at least 60 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to work at heights in excess of 25 feet during installations and job sites.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with nurse call systems.
  • Additional certifications in low voltage systems.
  • Experience in a union environment.
