About the Role

We are seeking a Lead AI & Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative team at Milliman IntelliScript. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and machine learning projects that directly impact the healthcare and insurance industries. As a key contributor, you will leverage your expertise to enhance our Models as a Service (MAAS) initiative and drive the development of sophisticated AI solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end development, deployment, and maintenance of AI infrastructure and applications, ensuring seamless integration with IT and Product teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical and product objectives, driving model and feature delivery from ideation through deployment.
  • Provide technical guidance, reviews, and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to complex data science projects requiring ML engineering expertise and knowledge of medical claims and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Develop, deploy, and industrialize advanced GenAI and machine learning solutions for healthcare and insurance markets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, GenAI, and data science, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or clinical trials.
  • Expert level knowledge of Python and SQL, with experience in R and PySpark.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and timelines, directing the work of others as needed.
  • Strong programming aptitude with experience in cloud-based analytical solutions and distributed computing (e.g., Databricks).
  • Ability to create CI/CD workflows using GitHub and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform.

Nice to Have

  • Degree in a relevant field (computer science, data science, statistics, etc.).
  • Experience working in a HIPAA/PHI/PCI compliant environment.
