About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Land Acquisitioner remote to join D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the U.S. Founded in 1978, our company specializes in the construction and sale of high-quality homes primarily for the entry-level and first-time move-up markets. As a Land Acquisitioner remote, you will play a crucial role in acquiring undeveloped land or finished lots for development, working closely with various stakeholders to secure land for our projects.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate, secure, and organize land acquisition leads.
  • Conduct title and municipal research, initiating inquiries for potential land leads.
  • Facilitate initial meetings with sellers and their representatives.
  • Prepare letters of intent and maintain comprehensive property descriptions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with land developers, brokers, and landowners.
  • Underwrite and analyze the financial aspects of each development opportunity.
  • Negotiate purchase contracts with sellers, ensuring all business is conducted professionally and ethically.
  • Communicate regularly with city officials to ensure compliance and facilitate smooth transactions.

Requirements

  • Fifth-year college or university program certificate.
  • Four to six years of related experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email communication.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in real estate or land acquisition.
  • Familiarity with local zoning laws and regulations.
  • Previous experience negotiating contracts.
