Laboratory Supervisor - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team remotely at Freeport-McMoRan. In this role, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of our laboratory unit, ensuring that all processes are executed according to our high standards of safety and excellence.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Implement production plans according to approved schedules and participate in operational duties as needed.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to staff on safety procedures and best practices.
• Maintain inventory of materials and equipment, approving purchases as necessary.
• Prepare estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities.
• Inspect work in progress, identifying problem areas and directing remedial actions.
• Ensure all safety data sheets are maintained and accessible for crew members.
• Perform other duties as required to support laboratory operations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques, with strong skills in resolving day-to-day operational issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Experience in budget preparation and monitoring.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred, along with a degree in Chemistry or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a mining or industrial environment.
• Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job.
• Familiarity with safety practices and hazard recognition.
