IT Systems Specialist - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for an IT Systems Specialist to join our growing IT team. This IT Systems Specialist remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in infrastructure, cloud technologies, and SQL administration while providing advanced technical support and maintaining core systems. Join us in making a difference as we manage approximately 8,000 homes in the east of England, collaborating with various agencies and stakeholders to enhance our communities.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the organization’s physical and virtual server environment across on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend upgrades or enhancements to ensure technology remains secure, modern, and efficient.
- Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure components, ensuring they are secure, high-performing, and cost-effective.
- Collaborate with IT security colleagues to identify infrastructure risks and implement appropriate remediation and preventative measures.
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and effective communication between users, systems, and services.
- Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure critical data can be restored quickly and effectively in the event of an incident.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.
- Experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in identifying and developing system integrations to improve information management and workflows.
- Experience managing MS SQL Server, including optimizing database performance.
- Familiarity with implementing and managing Windows and Linux Server OS.
- Knowledge of MDR security tools, firewall management, and networking.
- Development experience using C# and/or VB, as well as Powershell/Bash scripting.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud security best practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework.

- An annual salary of up to £47,739.00 (depending on experience).
