Interim Vice President, Development - Remote Leadership Role

About the Role

We are seeking an Interim Vice President, Development to join Mozilla Foundation in a remote capacity. This role is crucial for maintaining momentum in our fundraising efforts during a 7-month maternity leave. As the Interim Vice President, Development, you will lead a dedicated team focused on securing resources that promote an open and inclusive internet.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and guide the execution of donor strategies and pipeline development plans.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to create a robust philanthropic engagement strategy for MozFest 2026.
• Monitor progress toward annual fundraising goals across major gifts, institutional giving, and grassroots revenue streams.
• Provide clear reporting and strategic updates to the Executive Director and leadership team.
• Lead and support a multi-functional fundraising team, ensuring alignment and accountability.
• Identify and flag strategic risks and opportunities to the Executive Director.
• Establish metrics, track progress, and document learnings to inform future fundraising cycles.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive fundraising leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and institutional funding.
• Strong experience in managing multiple revenue streams simultaneously.
• Excellent strategic judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong collaboration and executive-level communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in non-profit technology sectors.
• Familiarity with grassroots fundraising initiatives.
• Previous experience with MozFest or similar events.
