About the Role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Designer remote to join our team at HelloKindred. This role is essential for producing infrastructure design documentation aligned with solution architecture, delivered through third-party suppliers. The Infrastructure Designer will ensure compliant, cost-effective, and resilient infrastructure solutions across our project portfolio while providing technical leadership and escalation support within an operational banking environment.

What You'll Do

  • Produce infrastructure design documentation based on approved solution architecture for implementation by third-party suppliers.
  • Coordinate accurate infrastructure estimates for inclusion in end-to-end project costs and business cases.
  • Lead technical resources and subject matter experts within project environments.
  • Contribute to infrastructure solution frameworks and design patterns with awareness of external markets and suppliers.
  • Establish clear root cause for incidents impacting Infrastructure CoE deliverables and ensure remediation.
  • Collaborate with third-party supplier build teams and development and test environment leads to ensure compliance to design.
  • Engage with third parties to design product integration into existing and new solutions.
  • Act as technical escalation point and convene troubleshooting teams to resolve infrastructure issues rapidly.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in VMware platforms, infrastructure solutions, networking environments, and firewall technologies.
  • Strong technical authoring and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills when engaging internal management, technical teams, business partners, customers, and external IT service providers.
  • Experience with Mainframe technologies including CICS, COBOL, Objectstar, CA Datacom, and VSAM is desirable.
  • Knowledge of UNIX environments including AIX, Linux, and Solaris is advantageous.
  • Experience with Wintel, storage, and desktop environments is beneficial.
  • Understanding of data centre hosting environments is desirable.
  • Exposure to cloud services and integration is advantageous.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with mobile and BYOD environments is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of middleware and integration technologies including IBM Message Broker and DataStage is desirable.
