About the Role

HX5, LLC is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Brook Park, OH. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center, providing essential HR services to employees and management. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing employee experiences and ensuring compliance with HR policies.

What You'll Do

  • Provide customer-focused service to employees, managers, and leadership.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, escalating as appropriate.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all contract positions, ensuring a smooth hiring process.
  • Prepare offer materials in accordance with procedures and contract requirements.
  • Process, track, and review background checks, drug screenings, and medical screenings.
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, status changes, and offboarding.
  • Complete E-Verify filings and I-9 documentation accurately.
  • Prepare and file reports of accidents and injuries at establishments.
  • Process FMLA and disability claims effectively.
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Act as the point of contact for NASA badging and training.
  • Support program management with reports and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • BA degree and 3 years of relevant experience required; 10 years of experience preferred.
  • Five years of government contracting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HR information systems and applicant tracking software.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Taleo and Deltek products.
  • Familiarity with government contracting regulations.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
