About the Role

Join American Airlines as a Human Resources Generalist in a remote capacity, where you will explore a world of possibilities while supporting our Inflight department. What You'll Do

  • Support leaders of the Inflight Performance Team in conducting thorough, timely, and consistent team member relations investigations.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on performance management, career development, and progressive discipline for both represented and non-represented team members.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to support mediation and resolution of HR-related queries and concerns from team members.
  • Leverage data and workforce metrics to proactively identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with the People Business Partner on strategic imperatives: talent strategy, learning and development, and building a culture of engagement.
  • Partner with the ADA team to evaluate accommodation requests and guide leaders on appropriate next steps.
  • Support leaders with the talent management cycle including recruiting activities, onboarding plan support, and offboarding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or related field or equivalent experience/training.
  • 3 years of human resources experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional maturity to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with state and federal employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, etc.
  • PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Experience in providing guidance and counsel to leaders.
  • Strong business and HR acumen.
  • Experience reporting, analyzing, interpreting, and critical thinking.
