About the Role

Thompsons Solicitors, the UK’s leading social justice law firm, is seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Administrator to join our Birmingham team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. What You'll Do

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing timely and professional support to colleagues.
  • Manage the HR inbox, ensuring queries are responded to efficiently.
  • Prepare employment documentation such as contracts, letters, and HR correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support general HR administration.
  • Assist with onboarding processes for new starters and support the employee lifecycle.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider HR team, including Talent Acquisition and Payroll.
  • Help keep HR processes organized, efficient, and well-documented.

Requirements

  • Organized, enthusiastic, and confident in juggling multiple priorities.
  • Experience in HR administration or recruitment administration within a busy environment.
  • Strong written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Keen to learn, grow, and develop your HR knowledge.
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as iTrent or People First is desirable but not essential.
  • Working towards or interested in a qualification like CIPD Level 3 is also desirable.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a legal or social justice environment.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
