About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our amazing team at The Salt Room. This Head Chef remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead a kitchen that celebrates fresh seafood, quality meats, and vibrant vegetarian dishes. Located on Brighton’s seafront, our restaurant combines Riviera elegance with a lively bar and open kitchen, providing guests with a refined yet relaxed coastal dining experience.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a kitchen team to create the finest dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
• Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining a professional manner under pressure.
• Implement and uphold Health & Safety rules and regulations in the kitchen.
• Oversee the kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality in food preparation.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop seasonal menus that highlight local produce.
• Engage with guests to enhance their dining experience and gather feedback on menu items.
• Participate in staff training and development programs to foster a skilled kitchen team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role in a busy fresh food kitchen environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
• A genuine passion for creating high-quality dishes and a commitment to culinary excellence.
• Eligibility to work full-time in the UK.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with fire-led cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and seasonal ingredients.
• Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
