Gardener - Remote Position at IHG Hotels & Resorts

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Gardener to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts. This Gardener remote position offers a unique opportunity to work in a five-star luxury environment while maintaining the extensive tropical gardens and outdoor spaces across Hayman Island Resort. As a Gardener, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the island’s landscaping meets the high presentation standards expected of a five-star resort, while supporting the health and sustainability of our gardens and grounds.

What You'll Do

• Mow, trim, and maintain lawns and gardens to ensure a pristine appearance.
• Prune trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and aesthetics.
• Plant and maintain tropical landscaping to enhance the resort's beauty.
• Conduct weed control and irrigation checks to ensure optimal garden health.
• Operate gardening equipment and small machinery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain pathways and outdoor areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and visually appealing.
• Assist with general grounds maintenance to uphold the resort's high standards.

Requirements

• Current Manual Driver’s Licence (essential).
• Construction White Card.
• Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Landscaping or similar (preferred).
• Experience in landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate gardening equipment (brush cutters, mowers, hedge trimmers, etc.).
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in tropical conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a luxury resort environment.
• Knowledge of tropical plant species and their care.
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems.
