Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager remote to join our team at Kraken. As a key member of our Finance Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of our organization. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States while contributing to our mission of accelerating the global adoption of cryptocurrency.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a U.S. GAAP and Kraken accounting policy subject matter expert.
• Provide counsel to internal stakeholders on the interpretation and implementation of accounting and finance policies.
• Evaluate financial practices, including historical and projected earnings, cash flows, and internal control structures.
• Assist with the adoption of new U.S. GAAP accounting standards and coordinate with accounting process owners.
• Prepare and review disclosures in Kraken’s financial statements and ensure compliance with SEC filings.
• Collaborate with internal business teams such as legal, treasury, and accounting.
• Lead process and reporting improvements within Workiva.
• Develop and maintain SOX compliance over financial reporting and disclosures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA and MBA preferred.
• 5-8 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting and/or public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience in business combinations, derivatives, and complex financial instruments.
• Understanding of complex business and information technology management processes.
• Experience as finance lead for post-merger integration.

Nice to Have

• Cryptocurrency industry experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Previous experience in a remote work environment.
