About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Shift Manager - Chilled to join our team at Albert Bartlett, a leader in the potato industry since 1948. This Engineering Shift Manager - Chilled remote position plays a vital role in overseeing our chilled production systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. You will lead a dedicated team of engineers, implementing best practices in maintenance and troubleshooting while driving operational improvements.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all engineering activities during your shift in the Chilled division, ensuring optimal performance of production equipment.
• Lead a team of engineers, motivating and developing them to maximize their potential and productivity.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
• Collaborate with production managers to ensure alignment between engineering capabilities and production needs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, promoting a culture of safety among all team members.
• Utilize data to assess equipment performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage shift-related administrative tasks including reporting, documentation, and planning.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an engineering management role, particularly within the food production or FMCG sector.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems related to food processing.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capability to manage and inspire a team.
• Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to food manufacturing environments.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, with a focus on chilled product production timelines.

Nice to Have

• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
