Engineering Manager - Runtime Team (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Runtime Team at PolyAI, a leader in automating customer service through lifelike voice assistants. As an Engineering Manager, you will focus on leading a high-performing engineering team dedicated to enhancing our real-time voice interactions. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to our innovative solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a cross-functional team of 3 to 5 engineers, focusing on people management and building a strong team culture.
  • Oversee team operations, including sprint planning, performance management, and ensuring predictable delivery.
  • Drive hiring efforts to expand the team and contribute to a high-quality interview process.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to translate business goals into actionable roadmaps for internal tooling and scalability.
  • Ensure the robustness and reliability of our multitenant conversational AI platform, particularly in developer APIs.
  • Champion strong engineering standards and best practices across the team.
  • Support technical decision-making, guiding engineers through design choices and architectural challenges.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a SaaS company, with at least 5 years as a Software Engineer.
  • Proven experience managing a team, including sprint leadership and performance reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute a roadmap for an engineering team.
  • Significant expertise in Python is a must; experience with GoLang and React is a plus.
  • Experience with internal tooling, observability, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
