About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Early Careers Recruitment Specialist to join our London team on a 9-month contract. This role will have overall responsibility for the delivery of our inclusion strategy, including specific programme management aligned with our inclusion initiatives as well as managing our LawTech and US recruitment activities. Additionally, the Early Careers Recruitment Specialist will support the UK Early Careers Recruitment team with events, programmes, interviewing, broadening access activity, and university relationships. What You'll Do

  • Deliver our early careers recruitment inclusion strategy, partnering with internal networks to align with the firm’s inclusion goals.
  • Organize and deliver inclusion programmes, representing A&O Shearman at various events.
  • Manage university relationships, including sponsorship reviews and organizing campus events such as careers fairs and skills workshops.
  • Conduct interviews for early careers programmes and provide feedback to candidates, ensuring a consistent selection process.
  • Oversee the management and delivery of the annual summer associate programme and LLM recruitment for the US Corporate Finance Group.
  • Take ownership of the recruitment process for the annual LawTech Graduate Programme, collaborating with HR Business Partners.
  • Support ad hoc early careers projects and manage junior administrative support.

Requirements

  • Experience in successful volume entry-level recruitment, ideally within the legal sector or professional services.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK Graduate and Early Careers Recruitment market and Higher Education.
  • Passionate about inclusion programmes and broadening access to the legal profession.
  • Understanding of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and their functionalities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours, including evening work and potential overnight stays.

  • Evidence of strong university relationships in the UK.
