Director of Operations - Private Family Office
About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Operations - Private Family Office to join a private family on the Peninsula. This role is essential in supporting the Chief of Staff and providing high-level operational and administrative leadership across the family’s households. The ideal candidate will have experience in team management, household operations, and administrative oversight, thriving in a hands-on, dynamic environment. As the Director of Operations, you will work closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure smooth operations, support the family’s needs, and help build a strong team culture.
What You'll Do
- Support the Chief of Staff and family with day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
- Manage payroll, invoicing, and home budgets, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including invoicing, coordination, and quality oversight.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff to oversee household staff, including scheduling, performance management, and team development.
- Build and maintain team culture, standard operating procedures, and operational protocols.
- Fill in for the Chief of Staff when they are unavailable, including light calendar and travel support as needed.
- Assist with other administrative or operational tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and service orientation.
- Travel as needed to support multiple properties and family events in Northern California.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
- Experience in operations, household management, or similar administrative leadership roles within family office or private services.
- Hands-on, service-oriented mindset; no task is too big or small.
- Warm, positive, and team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate staff while maintaining a high level of discretion.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Flexible and adaptable, including potential travel and occasional overtime.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-performance, dynamic environment supporting high-profile families.

What We Offer
- Competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $200,000 depending on experience.
