Director of Downstream Marketing - Remote
About the Role
Freenome is seeking a strategic, high-energy Director of Downstream Marketing to lead the commercial launch and market expansion of our blood-based cancer screening tests. This remote role will serve as the first dedicated downstream leader, bridging our breakthrough science with healthcare providers, systems, and patients. You will own the go-to-market (GTM) execution, demand generation, and sales enablement strategies that will transform our clinical evidence into a market-leading commercial brand.
What You'll Do
- Execute Go-to-Market (GTM) tactics for new products and indications, delivering integrated campaigns and cross-channel collateral that translate complex early-detection science into compelling messaging.
- Develop and optimize digital marketing campaigns to drive system, healthcare provider (HCP), and patient acquisition, overseeing paid media strategy, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and conversion optimization.
- Partner closely with Sales and Learning & Development (L&D) teams to create high-impact collateral and training modules that accelerate the sales cycle.
- Ensure a consistent, high-integrity brand voice across all physician-facing and patient-facing touchpoints.
- Monitor the competitive landscape to refine our positioning and maintain Freenome’s competitive edge.
- Manage external creative and media agencies to deliver high-ROI campaigns while maintaining a disciplined marketing budget.
- Build relationships with industry thought leaders, customers, and internal stakeholders to provide key insights to cross-functional teams.
- Design and execute Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies to engage referring physicians and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field.
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in downstream/commercial marketing within the molecular diagnostics, biotech, or medical device space.
- Ability to translate dense clinical data into a narrative that busy physicians can understand quickly.
- Demonstrated data-driven decision-making skills, measuring conversion rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and physician engagement metrics.
Nice to Have
- Experience launching a PCP-focused diagnostic test.
- Familiarity with the reimbursement landscape affecting downstream adoption.
- MBA or advanced degree in life sciences preferred.
