Database + Evaluation Specialist - Remote Part-Time Role

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Database + Evaluation Specialist to join our team at NewRoot Learning Institute. This remote part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of enhancing educational experiences for young people. You will support our data collection systems and processes, ensuring accurate and efficient data management to document and communicate our impact.

What You'll Do

• Support data collection and evaluation processes, ensuring data integrity.
• Maintain and improve data collection tools and systems to enhance usability.
• Conduct data quality checks and generate insightful reports for stakeholders.
• Assist program staff with data entry practices and troubleshooting.
• Document and improve data collection processes for efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with the Manager, Data + Evaluation to align on objectives.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
• Work approximately 10 hours per week, primarily remotely with some in-person requirements in Chicago.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data collection or database management.
• Experience with relational database systems and online data tools.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in technical troubleshooting.
• Commitment to educational equity and restorative practices.
• Proficiency with Google Office applications.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the education sector or with educational data.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of restorative justice practices.
