This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing department, which plays a crucial part in our revenue cycle functions. As a Remote Medical Biller, you will work from anywhere in the world, contributing to our mission of helping individuals reclaim their lives and heal communities affected by substance use disorder.

What You'll Do

• Submit medical claims to insurance companies and ensure proper payment processing.
• Review unpaid claims and process refunds efficiently.
• Assist patients with insurance information and payment plans.
• Maintain knowledge of billing rules and trends to ensure compliance.
• Utilize billing software for claim processing and check eligibility for treatments.
• Verify benefits and ensure department goals are met.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and the Privacy Act.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in medical billing.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet navigation.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Experience with billing software and electronic health records.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
