About the Role
HyerTek is seeking a Data Architect remote to lead the design, governance, and evolution of data architectures across various sectors. As a Data Architect remote, you will collaborate with our solutions team and client stakeholders to assess existing data environments and define target-state architectures.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain enterprise data models across Dynamics 365 / Dataverse, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Define target-state data architectures for client engagements, mapping from legacy source systems to production environments.
- Establish data governance frameworks, including ownership, quality rules, lineage documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Architect ETL/ELT patterns and integration strategies using Azure Data Factory and Fabric pipelines.
- Design the semantic and reporting layer in Power BI, including dimensional models and dashboard frameworks.
- Evaluate and rationalize client data landscapes, identifying redundancy and integration risks.
- Set standards for data migration into Dataverse and D365, ensuring referential integrity and validation criteria.
- Connect data architecture across Power Platform apps for end-to-end traceability.
- Produce and maintain architecture artifacts such as data flow diagrams and integration specifications.
Requirements
- Eligibility for an Active Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- 5+ years of experience with the Microsoft data stack, demonstrating architecture or lead-level responsibility.
- Deep experience with Dataverse / D365 data modeling and governance.
- Strong Power BI architecture skills, including star/snowflake modeling and DAX optimization.
- Experience designing data integration and migration architectures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric for lakehouse architecture and data integration.
- Solid SQL skills and familiarity with scripting in Python or PowerShell.
- Prior work in DoD or federal IT environments is a plus.
