Data Analyst - Risk and Operational Performance (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Analyst, Risk and Operational Performance to join our team remotely at Kraken. In this role, you will help shape the future of crypto by leveraging data to drive insights and improve operational performance. As a Data Analyst remote, you will be integral to our mission of accelerating global crypto adoption and enabling financial freedom for all.

What You'll Do

• Act as a trusted business advisor to the Core Service team, proactively identifying trends and driving efficiency improvements.
• Own the design of dashboards, metrics, and reports, turning data into actionable insights for fraud, funding, risk, and support experience teams.
• Dive into large, complex datasets/logs to turn your findings into scalable data models necessary for reporting, analytics, and ML models.
• Lead cross-functional projects with analysts, scientists, engineers, and product teams to build data pipelines using Airflow, Python, and DBT.
• Develop and automate reporting of key performance indicators across core services teams.
• Be at the forefront of data innovation by experimenting, testing hypotheses, and translating insights into action.
• Develop high-quality code for pipelines and dashboards, incorporating software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis and data management within the Fintech industry.
• Expert SQL skills and hands-on experience in Python.
• Experience working with fraud, funding, finance, and customer support teams to analyze and optimize operational performance.
• Hands-on experience using dbt (data build tool) to model and organize data for reporting and decision-making.
• Strong understanding of data workflow orchestration and experience setting up and managing data pipelines.
• Capable of creating intuitive dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex insights clearly.
• A degree in a field emphasizing analytical rigor, such as analytics, software engineering, or economics.

Nice to Have

• Experience in A/B testing and experimentation infrastructure.
• Strong communicator who can simplify complex data ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.
