Survey & Installation Technician - Remote Field Role

About the Role

We are hiring a Survey & Installation Technician - Remote to join our Specialist Technical team at Selecta. This role involves visiting customer sites to complete site surveys, installations, and configurations of new and refurbished food tech equipment. As a Survey & Installation Technician, you will work closely with our office-based Great Start team to ensure site surveys are completed on time and with a high degree of accuracy. This customer-facing role requires extensive travel to our new and existing customers, and you will be provided with a company vehicle to facilitate this.

What You'll Do

• Conduct machine movement surveys at customer sites, ensuring high accuracy and suitability of equipment against proposed locations.
• Prepare all relevant site logistical and facilities information pre-delivery, ensuring customers understand planned works for efficient installations.
• Ensure all equipment is operational, clean, and configured to customer specifications upon installation.
• Perform functional checks to ensure correct allocation of vending and payment systems.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to ensure timely delivery and access to sites.
• Manage complex installations, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
• Complete post-install audits and electrical safety checks, providing feedback for improvements.
• Support refurbishment of damaged equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in field-based technical support within a vending or food tech environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Practical technical experience with food technology platforms, including vending equipment and payment systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
• Full UK driving license with at least 12 months of driving experience and no more than 6 points.

Nice to Have

• Certifications in Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, and Fresh Food Handling.
• Experience with risk assessments and method statements.
