Corporate Legal Counsel - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team at BDO. This position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to our Corporate Legal department. As a Corporate Legal Counsel, you will leverage your experience and proactivity in handling claims, procedures, and complaints. You will also advise BDO professionals proactively to prevent claims and complaints.

What You'll Do

• Independently handle claims and complaints as a Corporate Legal Counsel.
• Draft memos and process documents to support legal proceedings.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and parties involved.
• Prepare settlement agreements and respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies.
• Deliver technical presentations for the department and practice.

Requirements

• Completed university degree in Law, focusing on obligations and liability law.
• Affinity with corporate law and tax law is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as a lawyer or corporate counsel, preferably in the business services sector.
• Excellent legal communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong analytical abilities.
• Good social skills, a collegial attitude, proactive approach, eagerness to learn, and a sense of humor.

• Familiarity with risk management practices.
