Consumer Loan Underwriter I/II - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Consumer Loan Underwriter I or II to join our team at Rogue Credit Union. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely while underwriting consumer loans and ensuring exceptional member experiences. As a Consumer Loan Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating loan applications and providing solutions that are member-focused.
What You'll Do
- Underwrite direct, indirect, and third-party loan requests within established credit guidelines and authority.
- Notify branch staff, dealer partners, and vendor personnel of loan decisions in a timely manner, clearly defining acceptable terms and conditions.
- Provide coaching and training to front-line staff, maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Deliver member-focused solutions while providing unsurpassed service to branches and dealer partners.
- Stay current on applicable regulations and credit union policies to ensure compliance throughout assigned areas.
- Proactively perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer and keyboarding skills, along with loan application and tax analysis skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with loan underwriting software.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Previous experience in a credit union or financial institution.
