Cloud Data Architect - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Data Architect to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This Cloud Data Architect remote position is a contract-to-hire role for 6 months, where you will lead the design and delivery of a modern data warehouse and lakehouse. You will play a crucial role in the greenfield SAP S/4 RISE implementation, which will enhance our enterprise analytics platform and power reporting across the business.

What You'll Do

• Architect a cloud data warehouse/lakehouse to ingest large-scale transactional and operational data.
• Define integration and ingestion strategies; oversee pipeline design and delivery.
• Build a reference architecture using Databricks Delta Lake or similar technologies.
• Lead semantic modeling to unify reporting across Tableau, Power BI, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Optimize performance through query tuning, modeling, data layout, and scalability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture, with a proven track record of standing up data warehouses.
• Strong data modeling skills and advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with SAP S/4 is strongly preferred.
• Cloud experience, preferably with Azure (AWS or GCP are acceptable).
• Familiarity with tools such as Databricks and Snowflake is preferred.

• Experience in leading data architecture projects in a remote setting.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
