About the Role
We are seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at RemoteStar. What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain backend systems using Python or Go, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs or gRPC services, focusing on versioning and optimization.
- Utilize Docker for containerization and deploy scalable services with basic Kubernetes knowledge.
- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, designing schemas that support efficient data storage.
- Integrate and automate workflows across various systems, including data pipelines and CI/CD processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform R&D prototypes into stable, usable APIs or microservices.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub Actions, ensuring seamless integration and delivery.
- Leverage AWS or other cloud environments for deployment, enhancing the scalability of our services.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer remote, with a strong focus on backend development.
- Proficient in Python or Go, with a solid understanding of API design principles.
- Experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes for service deployment.
- Strong relational database skills, particularly with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools like Git, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with cloud deployment environments, particularly AWS.
- A product-oriented mindset, capable of turning prototypes into production-ready solutions.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with ML workflow orchestration tools such as Flyte, Airflow, or MLflow.
- Exposure to LLM inference tools like Hugging Face Hub or NVIDIA Triton.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Understanding of observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
- Ability to work collaboratively with product and design teams to define backend contracts.
