Assistant Manager, Accounting - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Accounting to join our team at Gen II Fund Services. This role offers a unique opportunity to assist our Luxembourg team with the management of day-to-day accounting services while ensuring that deadlines are consistently met and a first-class, highly professional service is provided. What You'll Do
- Assist with the preparation and review of all client and investor-specific deliverables, including Net Asset Value calculations, Financial Statements, partner capital statements, and capital call and distribution allocations.
- Review journal entries, including cash and non-cash transactions, and perform a thorough review of trial balances and supporting work papers.
- Prepare and review capital events activities, ensuring all supporting documentation is filed according to internal procedures.
- Participate actively in weekly calls with clients as per engagement needs, demonstrating a solid understanding of fund governing documents and industry guides.
- Ensure control processes are adhered to and escalate complex matters appropriately.
- Lead the coordination of year-end audits and liaise with external providers to support tax return preparation.
- Coordinate ad hoc requests and assist junior team members in their career development goals.
- Provide training and guidance to junior fund accountants, ensuring best practices and key policies are applied.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a recognized accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA).
- A minimum of 4 years of practical accounting work experience.
- Good knowledge of Luxembourg corporate laws and private equity fund structures is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of waterfall calculations and US & LUX GAAP.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong team spirit.
- Result-oriented with a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Ability to work autonomously, taking full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
