About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager (Procurement) to join our dynamic team at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to a leading educational institution. As an Assistant Finance Manager (Procurement), you will play a critical role in enhancing our procurement processes and supporting our strategic goals.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Finance Manager in leading the procurement team to perform day-to-day operations and administer corporate insurance programs.
  • Handle procurement projects independently and provide support to tender boards.
  • Oversee inventory stock and maintain accurate fixed asset records.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, develop category strategies, and execute strategic sourcing to achieve business goals.
  • Streamline procurement operations, enhance systems, and analyze data for management decisions.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in Purchasing, Supply Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience in procurement, tendering, and vendor management functions, preferably gained from multinational or sizable organizations.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies, and guidelines, and cost management initiatives.
  • Possess good planning, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Good command of English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
  • Logical mind with a service mindset, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and meticulousness.
  • High proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, with experience in Oracle Financials (purchasing module)/e-tendering/supplier sourcing/inventory management system being an advantage.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in educational institutions or public sector procurement.
  • Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in procurement.
