Vendor Master Data Internship - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Vendor Master Data Internship with Biogen, where you will play a vital role within our dynamic Vendor Master Data (VMD) team. This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in vendor onboarding, data maintenance, and ensuring database integrity. As a Vendor Master Data Intern, you will leverage your university-level accounting and business knowledge within a real shared services environment. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and compliance of our vendor management systems, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of our service offerings.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct regular outbound calls to vendors to verify and confirm bank account details, adhering to internal policies and security requirements.
• Support the vendor creation and maintenance process in the system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with global standards.
• Perform Vendor Master Data cleanup tasks based on provided instructions to enhance data quality, consistency, and process efficiency.
• Document confirmations in line with internal control and compliance requirements.
• Escalate discrepancies or situations where verification cannot be completed.
• Prepare simple reports summarizing cleanup progress, such as the number of records updated.
• Assist in the onboarding process by creating new vendor records in the ERP system.
• Update existing vendor data, including addresses, contact details, tax information, and bank details.
• Check submitted documentation for completeness and accuracy before processing.
• Collaborate with P2P teams and business requesters to resolve missing or unclear information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional fluency in English; additional languages are considered a plus.
• Comfortable working in Excel and financial ERPs (e.g., Oracle).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic analytical skills.
