Transport Manager - VIC/TAS (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Transport Manager to oversee our operations in Victoria and Tasmania. This Transport Manager role is remote, allowing you to lead from anywhere while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing transport operations. You will play a crucial role in driving fleet performance, compliance, and contractor partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of drivers and support staff, ensuring transport operations run safely, on time, and within budget.
- Build a culture of safety and compliance across Chain of Responsibility and Heavy Vehicle Law.
- Maximize asset use and route efficiency using IVMS, GPS, and other transport tools.
- Manage fleet performance, maintenance, bin use, and replacement planning.
- Deliver KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per tonne/km, and safety metrics.
- Keep costs on track and manage budgets effectively.
- Lead EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards within your team.
- Strengthen contractor relationships and ensure contracts are adhered to.
- Utilize data and analytics to improve performance.
- Foster a team culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transport or logistics leadership.
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and heavy vehicle compliance.
- Experience managing fleet performance and transport KPIs.
- Strong budget and financial management skills.
- Confidence with IVMS/GPS systems and transport analytics.
- Ability to lead high-performing, inclusive teams.
