Thermal and Combustion Process Engineer - Relocation Support

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Thermal and Combustion Process Engineer to join our team at Jobot. This position is based in Davenport, IA, and while it is not fully remote, we offer relocation support for the right candidate. As a Thermal and Combustion Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our cast house combustion systems.

What You'll Do

• Act as a combustion safety expert for the casting facility.
• Drive the implementation and development of thermal best practices.
• Create and track proactive measures to ensure stable furnace performance.
• Ensure furnaces are running efficiently to maximize melt rate and minimize costs.
• Evaluate new technologies to help improve GHG emissions in line with our decarbonization strategy.
• Resolve equipment and process problems related to thermal processes.
• Lead problem-solving teams and organize support from other resources as necessary.
• Maintain relationships with vendors of thermal and combustion equipment and stay informed on external developments.
• Provide engineering and operational support for large capital improvement projects.
• Navigate Rockwell PLCs for troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years focused on thermal and combustion safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice to Have

• Experience with energy efficiency projects.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to combustion processes.
• Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies.
