About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Producer for Devcon 8 to join the Ethereum Foundation in a fully remote capacity. As a Technical Producer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical production of Devcon, ensuring a seamless experience for over 10,000 attendees. This role involves overseeing all audiovisual elements, live-streaming operations, and technical coordination across multiple stages.

What You'll Do

  • Develop comprehensive technical production plans and runbooks for all stages of the event.
  • Define technical specifications and requirements for AV equipment, streaming infrastructure, and recording systems.
  • Evaluate and select AV vendors; negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate with venue teams on power, rigging, internet connectivity, and technical infrastructure.
  • Create contingency plans for technical failures and emergency scenarios.
  • Oversee multi-stream production across all stages, managing streaming platform integration.
  • Ensure consistent video and audio quality standards across all production outputs.
  • Lead technical crew and coordinate with AV vendor teams during the event.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical production for large-scale conferences (5,000+ attendees).
  • Proven track record managing multi-stage, multi-day events with concurrent livestreams.
  • Deep expertise in broadcast-quality video production and live streaming workflows.
  • Strong understanding of streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, HLS) and encoding standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Ethereum or blockchain community events.
  • Understanding of decentralized and open-source ethos.
  • International event production experience.
