About the Role

Scorewarrior is seeking a Tech Lead (C++) to join our dynamic team remotely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of our flagship MMO 4X strategy game, Total Battle, while also providing relocation support to Cyprus. As a Tech Lead, you will leverage your expertise in C++ to guide the evolution of new game functionalities and ensure high-quality game development.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the technical design and architectural vision for new game features in a large-scale multiplayer project.
  • Identify and eliminate issues that hinder developer effectiveness and lead to low-quality solutions.
  • Coordinate with Framework and Core teams to resolve technical challenges and oversee the remediation process.
  • Conduct technical reviews of solutions developed within the team.
  • Create preliminary solution designs and decompose features into actionable tasks while mentoring the team in these skills.
  • Participate in hiring new developers by evaluating candidates and conducting technical interviews.
  • Perform design, development, or technical-debt tasks as time allows after fulfilling tech lead responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of production software development experience, including 4+ years in backend engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) and the STL; solid understanding of templates and RAII.
  • Proven ability to own and deliver medium-to-large components/systems, involving cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience creating preliminary solution designs and decomposing features into actionable tasks.
  • Track record of identifying, prioritizing, and remediating technical debt.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers through regular 1:1s and individualized growth plans.

  • Samples of code to demonstrate your expertise.
  • Knowledge of other high-level programming languages.
  • Practical experience applying Domain-Driven Design in real-world projects.
  • Hands-on experience with actor-based frameworks like Akka.NET or Microsoft Orleans.
