About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Engineer - Remote to join our dynamic team at Jobgether. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the Migration Tools team, which is focused on creating and maintaining tools that facilitate customer transitions to GitHub and between various devices. Your work will directly enhance customer experiences by improving the scalability and performance of these tools. As a Staff Engineer, you will collaborate with a globally distributed team to refine our product offerings, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of our customer base.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor team members to produce high-quality, maintainable code as a Staff Engineer - Remote.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements and technical solutions.
- Develop and guide testing plans to assure solution quality and define success metrics.
- Drive project plans and release schedules ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Apply debugging tools to verify assumptions and optimize code performance.
- Analyze complex data to enhance products and support engineering decisions.
- Maintain live service operations and develop incident resolution playbooks.
- Enhance internal tools and processes while promoting the use of AI technologies.
- Develop and maintain a technical roadmap aligned with product goals.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in software engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale system architecture, particularly in cloud environments.
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and balancing priorities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for leveraging AI tools.
Nice to Have
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
