Staff Application Engineer - Workplace Technology (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Application Engineer to join Mozilla's Workplace Technology team. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead technical initiatives that enhance collaboration and productivity across our organization. As a Staff Application Engineer, you will architect scalable systems and automation that drive efficiency and innovation in our workplace.

What You'll Do

• Architect, develop, and scale automation frameworks and integrations across Mozilla’s workplace technology ecosystem, including collaboration tools and identity systems.
• Lead end-to-end engineering of lifecycle workflows, utilizing APIs and event-driven architectures to streamline processes.
• Build and maintain reusable libraries and SDKs that facilitate AI-enabled productivity at scale.
• Implement observability for workflows, defining metrics and building dashboards to ensure reliability and security.
• Partner with Security and Privacy teams to embed governance and compliance into automation flows.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices for building agentic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and efficient internal tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on application development and automation.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, event-driven architectures, and automation frameworks.
• Experience with AI productivity platforms and machine learning technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of AI technologies such as LLMs and RAG.
