About the Role

Join TravelCenters of America as a Site General Manager and lead our travel center operations! This role is pivotal in overseeing the management of a designated travel center, ensuring we provide exceptional service to travelers. As a Site General Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our locations and enhancing the travel experience for our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise the management team and overall operations of the designated travel center, ensuring a profitable and successful location.
  • Inspire and lead the Profit Center Managers and their teams, fostering a culture of integrity, honesty, and exceptional customer service.
  • Establish and monitor goals to meet company objectives related to people, profit, safety, and quality of service.
  • Coach and develop team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills necessary to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to identify and recruit top management talent, both internally and externally.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and communicate these to the District Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations impacting operations.
  • Manage location operations while controlling expenses within established budgets.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in retail or travel services.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills, with the ability to understand P&L statements and budget reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational understanding of POS software.
  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate insurance coverage.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the travel or hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of alternative energy and sustainability initiatives.
  • Previous experience in a multi-site management role.
