Senior Test Automation Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our team at hackajob, working remotely. In this role, you will collaborate with Verisk to enhance the quality of software in the UK Insurance sector. You will lead the development of automated testing frameworks and help shape best practices in test automation, API testing, and performance testing.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated testing frameworks using Cypress.io, adhering to BDD principles with Cucumber.
• Define and own the test strategy for critical projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Mentor and support other testers, fostering knowledge sharing and technical growth.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to establish clear acceptance criteria.
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman or Insomnia.
• Maintain detailed test documentation in QMetry, ensuring visibility and traceability.
• Track and manage issues using JIRA, contributing to root cause analysis.
• Support continuous integration and delivery by automating test pipelines.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in test automation, particularly with Cypress.io and Cucumber.
• Proven track record in mentoring testers and promoting test-first thinking.
• Strong experience in API testing using Postman or Insomnia.
• Deep understanding of Agile principles and experience in sprint planning.
• Excellent communication skills, able to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of JavaScript, SQL, or experience in Java-based environments.
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter.
• Industry-recognized testing certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Level.
