About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Systems and Networking Engineer remote to support and evolve enterprise infrastructure environments across systems, networking, and cloud platforms. This role is ideal for an engineer who not only solves today’s problems but also designs for tomorrow. You will serve as a senior escalation point, lead troubleshooting efforts, and help shape the technical direction of the environment while supporting mission-critical systems. This role has a heavy emphasis on Active Directory/Entra.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a senior escalation resource for complex systems and network issues
  • Design, maintain, and optimize Windows and Linux server environments
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation
  • Support and enhance Identity & Access Management (Active Directory, IAM)
  • Manage and maintain networking infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs)
  • Support virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, Azure, AWS)
  • Troubleshoot application, upgrade, and deployment issues
  • Create documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvements
  • Help manage scope and prevent uncontrolled project creep

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise systems and network engineering
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server & Active Directory
  • Networking (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs)
  • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure and AWS)
  • PowerShell and automation tooling
  • Experience in incident response and structured troubleshooting workflows
  • Client-facing experience (3–5 years preferred)
  • Ability to think strategically about infrastructure growth and stability
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
